Even celebrities like Keanu Reeves have done a DNA paternity test.  Karen Sala claimed that the Matrix sensation was father to at least one, perhaps more, of her four grown up kids. Sala, 46, asked for the tidy sum of 3$ in spousal support that she claimed she lost over the years and moreover, she also asked for the payments for the child for which she claimed $150,000 in retroactive monthly alimony payments. She said that she and the Canadian-born actor were childhood friends and had an affair; Reeves denies even vaguely knowing Sala.

Reeves agreed to do the paternity test without any legal pressures needed. The Paternity DNA test for Reeves has proved negative. Karen Sala however, insists that the test is not valid and that there must be a flawed procedure somewhere. Reeves’ lawyer emphatically declares that tested conformed to standard laboratory paternity DNA testing procedure.

 Mel Gibson and his Paternity DNA test

Mel Gibon’s suspicions about his pregnant girlfriend, Oksana Grigorieva, led him to seek a paternity DNA test. However, in this case the American-Australian actor wanted a test immediately after the birth of the child. His suspicions came about when Mel’s friends and children began questioning his girlfriend’s fidelity.

Gibson was encouraged by his 7 children to take this paternity test as they were concerned that Oksana may have ulterior motives regarding her relationship with Mel. Is she after the money?  The outcome of the test has not been made public.

Paternity DNA tests are often done in order to stop false claimants getting child support or inheritances to which they have no legal right. In some cases, DNA paternity tests are even carried out post-humus. A paternity test can both get a child his legal rights but can also save a father from having false paternal responsibilities forced upon him.

The alleged father, just like Keanu Reeves, will be excluded as the father by 100% if he is unrelated to the child.
