ISO17025 Accreditatio & Accuracy

The outstanding quality of our laboratory and the unfailing reliability and precision of our DNA test results are factors that at homeDNAdirect we take great pride in.  The laboratory performing our tests is highly experienced in the field of DNA testing and is constantly investing in the latest technology to ensure we can maintain our promise of quality - whether you choose to do a Paternity test, an immigration test or any other DNA test.

ISO laboratory Accreditation

Our promise of quality is based on the accreditation of our laboratory. Accredited laboratories are regularly inspected to ensure that the strict standards required to retain the accreditation are adhered to consistently. Specifically, our laboratory is accredited to ISO17025 standard – which focuses on laboratories offering this type of testing. ISO or International Standards Organization is recognized internationally as a leading accreditation body therefore giving you the reassurance you require about the quality of our testing.

The Level of Accuracy we offer in a DNA Paternity Test

In DNA paternity testing, the laboratory analyses 16 loci on the DNA molecule (one of these loci simply determines sex, so analysis of paternity is dependent on the comparison of 15 loci). The scientists then see which loci are identical; if all 15 loci match between alleged father and child, then it is considered to be an inclusion and the tested father is thus confirmed as being the true biological father. If the loci do not match then it is considered an exclusion and the alleged father is excluded as not being the father of the child with 100% accuracy.

To help you understand and interpret your results, we have provided you with a sample result which is accompanied by a concise explanation of what you need to understand. Please visit Understanding Your Results for more information.
